Hon. Christopher Audu Manship, widely known as Wallat, is a dynamic leader dedicated to transforming the lives of his people through innovative policies and infrastructural development. As the Executive Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Council, his leadership has been marked by a strong commitment to public service, security, education, and economic empowerment.

Early Life and Education

Born on August 29, 1970, in Tenti Babba, Barki Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Manship embarked on his educational journey at LGED Primary School, Tenti, obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate in 1983. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, Kurgwi (1983–1988) before furthering his studies at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, where he earned a National Ordinary Diploma in Accounting (1997).

Driven by his passion for knowledge and professional excellence, he later obtained a B.Sc. in Accounting from the National Open University of Nigeria (2019). He is a Certified National Accountant (CNA) and a proud member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

Professional Career

Hon. Manship’s career began as an Account Clerk at UTC Nigeria PLC, Jos Farms (1992–1996), where he was later promoted to Supervisor (1996–1999). His entrepreneurial acumen led him to serve as Managing Director of Walmanca Investment Company and Chairman of the Potatoes Traders Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter.

Political Leadership and Achievements

A dedicated member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Manship was appointed as the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Council by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on June 9, 2023. His administration has been characterized by remarkable achievements, including:

  • Education and Youth Empowerment
    • Awarded scholarships to 494 students across tertiary institutions.
    • Funded tuition for students scoring 250+ in JAMB to encourage academic excellence.
    • Provided first-class science laboratory equipment to schools.
  • Infrastructure and Community Development
    • Successfully completed 18 major projects, including road construction, bridge rehabilitation, and healthcare facilities.
    • Constructed and renovated healthcare centers in multiple districts to improve access to medical services.
    • Solarized public facilities such as the Local Government Secretariat and Chairman’s residence.
  • Security and Welfare
    • Took decisive action to curb kidnappings and criminal activities, significantly improving safety in Qua’an Pan.
    • Paid fines for the release of inmates at Shendam Mini Correctional Centre and donated sewing machines to support their rehabilitation.

Hon. Manship’s outstanding contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including:

  • Presidential Recognition – Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Logistics and Grassroots Development.
  • Award for Excellence in Grassroots Development – Radio, Television, and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Plateau State Chapter.
  • Best Chairman on Grassroots Development – Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council.

Personal Life

Hon. Christopher Audu Manship is happily married and blessed with children. His leadership continues to inspire progress and development, making Qua’an Pan a safer, more prosperous community.
